Refund Policy

This Refund Policy is issued in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-commerce) Rules, 2020, and applies to all purchases made on Labshop.

Laboratory equipment and consumables are sensitive, application-specific, and prone to misuse. Refunds are therefore governed by strict eligibility conditions.

Authority and Final Decision

All refund requests are subject to verification and approval by Labshop.
 Labshop’s decision on refunds shall be final and binding.

Raising a refund request or submitting supporting documents does not create an automatic right to refund.

Conditions for Refund Eligibility

A refund shall be considered only when all the following conditions are satisfied simultaneously:

1. Valid Grounds

Refunds are applicable only in the following cases:

  • The product delivered is materially different from the product ordered, or
  • The product is physically damaged at the time of delivery

No other grounds shall be entertained.

2. Time Limit for Raising Request

  • Refund requests must be raised within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Requests raised after 24 hours shall be summarily rejected.

This condition is necessary to establish that the issue existed prior to customer handling, as permitted under Indian consumer law.

3. Mandatory Unboxing Evidence

A clear, continuous, and unedited unboxing video is mandatory.

The video must show:

  • The sealed outer packaging
  • Shipping label with order details
  • Complete unboxing process
  • Visible damage or product mismatch

Videos that are:

  • Edited
  • Cut
  • Paused
  • Recorded after opening
    will be invalid and the refund request shall stand rejected.

4. Product Condition

The product must be:

  • Unused
  • Uninstalled
  • Unaltered
  • In original packaging with all labels intact

Any sign of usage, installation, or tampering disqualifies the refund request.

Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refunds shall not be provided in the following cases:

  • Change of mind or no longer required
  • Incorrect product selection by the customer
  • Compatibility, application, or performance expectations
  • Improper handling, storage, or usage
  • Damage occurring after delivery
  • Absence or invalidity of unboxing video
  • Requests raised beyond 24 hours
  • Products marked as non-returnable
  • Custom-sourced or special-order items

These exclusions are permitted under Indian law where clearly disclosed prior to purchase.

Inspection and Verification

  • Labshop reserves the right to:
    • Seek additional evidence
    • Conduct internal quality verification
    • Require return of the product for inspection (where applicable)
  • Approval of refund is contingent upon successful verification.

Refund Method and Timeline

  • Approved refunds shall be processed only to the original payment method.
  • Refund processing time:
    • 7–10 business days, subject to banking and payment gateway timelines
  • Shipping or handling charges are non-refundable, unless mandated otherwise under law.

Limitation of Liability

Labshop shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Business loss, downtime, or experimental failure
  • Loss arising from incorrect application or interpretation of product use

Policy Abuse

Labshop reserves the right to:

  • Reject future orders
  • Restrict accounts
    in cases of repeated refund misuse, false claims, or policy abuse.

Legal Compliance Statement

This policy does not override statutory rights provided under applicable Indian consumer laws. However, where the law permits conditional refunds, the terms of this policy shall prevail.

Cancellation Policy

At Labshop, we deal in laboratory equipment, consumables, and regulated materials that are often procured, packed, or reserved specifically against confirmed orders.
 Accordingly, order cancellations are not permitted as a general rule.

General Rule: No Cancellations

Once an order is placed and payment is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled.

Customers are advised to carefully review:

  • Product specifications
  • Material type
  • Quantity
  • Regulatory requirements

before placing an order.

Exceptional Cancellation Scenarios

Cancellations may be considered only under special circumstances, solely at the discretion of Labshop.

1. Failure to Provide Mandatory Documents (Sensitive / Regulated Products)

If an order includes regulated, restricted, or sensitive materials that require:

  • Licenses
  • Institutional authorization
  • End-use declarations
  • Any statutory or compliance documents

and the customer fails to provide the required documents within the stipulated timeframe, Labshop reserves the right to:

  • Cancel the order, and
  • Deduct up to 15% of the total order value towards:
    • Administrative handling
    • Compliance checks
    • Procurement and reservation costs

The remaining amount, if any, shall be refunded to the original payment method.

2. Incorrect Order or Order Placed by Mistake

If the customer has:

  • Ordered an incorrect product, or
  • Placed an order unintentionally

a cancellation request may be considered only if:

  • The request is raised within 24 hours of order placement, and
  • The order has not yet been processed, packed, dispatched, or reserved

Approval is not guaranteed and depends entirely on the order status at the time of request.

Non-Cancellable Situations

Cancellation requests shall be automatically rejected in the following cases:

  • Requests raised after 24 hours
  • Orders already processed, packed, or dispatched
  • Orders involving:
    • Custom-sourced items
    • Special procurement
    • Bulk or institutional pricing
  • Failure to meet internal cancellation eligibility checks

Cancellation Approval and Refunds

  • Cancellation approval is not automatic and remains subject to Labshop’s verification.
  • Any approved refund:
    • Will be processed only to the original payment method
    • May involve applicable deductions as stated above
  • Shipping, handling, payment gateway charges, or statutory deductions may be non-refundable, unless required by law.

Labshop reserves the right to:

  • Accept or reject any cancellation request
  • Modify or update this policy without prior notice, in accordance with applicable law

    Most products are dispatched within 2–3 business days, subject to:

    • Regulatory or documentation requirements

Dispatch timelines are indicative and not guaranteed.

Delivery Timeline (Estimated)

  • Once dispatched, orders are delivered through third-party logistics partners.
  • Estimated delivery time after dispatch is 5–7 business days.
  • Delivery timelines may vary due to factors such as:
    • Delivery location
    • Courier serviceability
    • Weather conditions
    • Public holidays or unforeseen logistical constraints

Shipping Responsibility

  • Labshop’s responsibility is limited to timely dispatch of the order as per this policy.
  • Delivery timelines are best-effort estimates and not contractual guarantees.

Labshop shall not be held responsible for:

  • Delays in delivery after dispatch
  • Multiple or failed delivery attempts
  • Delivery issues arising from incomplete or incorrect address details provided by the customer

Additional Shipping Charges

Certain products or delivery locations may:

  • Require special handling
  • Incur higher logistics costs

In such cases:

  • Additional shipping charges may be requested after order placement but before dispatch
  • The customer will be informed in advance

If the customer does not agree to the revised shipping charges:

  • The order may be cancelled prior to dispatch
  • A full refund will be processed to the original payment method

Address Accuracy

Customers must ensure that shipping details are:

  • Accurate
  • Complete
  • Serviceable

Labshop shall not be liable for delivery issues resulting from incorrect or incomplete address information.

Partial Shipments

  • Orders containing multiple items may be dispatched in multiple shipments.
  • Dispatch may occur separately based on product availability.
  • Customers will not be charged additional shipping fees unless explicitly communicated.

Force Majeure

Labshop shall not be liable for delays or failure in dispatch or delivery due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Government actions or restrictions
  • Transport disruptions
  • Strikes, lockouts, or public emergencies

Incomplete or vague complaints may not be processed.

Resolution Timeline

  • All valid grievances shall be acknowledged within 4 days of receipt.
  • Labshop shall endeavour to resolve the grievance within 15 days from the date of acknowledgment, as mandated under law.

Resolution timelines may vary depending on:

  • Nature of the grievance
  • Requirement of verification or third-party inputs

Decision Authority

  • The resolution offered by Labshop shall be based on:
    • Internal verification
    • Applicable policies

  • Labshop reserves the right to:

Escalation

If a customer is not satisfied with the resolution:

Labshop encourages customers to allow the internal grievance mechanism to complete before seeking external remedies.

Policy Integrity

  • This Grievance Redressal Policy does not override statutory consumer rights.

Returns

General Rule: No Returns

Products sold on Labshop are non-returnable.

Any signs of use, tampering, or contamination shall disqualify the return.

Return Approval Process

  • All return requests are subject to verification and approval by Labshop.
  • Submission of a return request does not guarantee approval.
  • Labshop may:
    • Request additional evidence
    • Conduct internal verification
    • Reject the request if criteria are not met

Return Outcome

  • If a return is approved:
    • Labshop will determine, at its discretion, whether:
      • A replacement is issued, or
      • A refund is processed in accordance with the Refund Policy
    • Replacement timelines, if applicable, will depend on product availability.

Non-Returnable Circumstances

Returns shall not be accepted in cases including but not limited to:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect product ordered by the customer
  • Compatibility or application issues
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections not affecting functionality
  • Damage occurring after delivery
  • Absence or invalidity of unboxing video
  • Requests raised beyond 24 hours
  • Products marked as non-returnable

Limitation of Liability

Labshop shall not be responsible for:

  • Losses arising from experimental failure
  • Incorrect application or interpretation of product use
  • Indirect or consequential damages
